Introduction
Doctor of Philosophy is most of the times addressed as Ph.D. which is a research course available in all the streams and subjects. Eligibility
Candidates who have completed their Post Graduation or Master's degree in Nursing from a reputed and registered institute and have acquired 55% marks as aggregate are eligible for this course.
Candidates holding M.Phil degree in Nursing are also eligible for this course in some institutes.
Some institutes also accept professionals having experience in the field of Nursing.
The age criteria need to be checked before submission of application form from the selected institute.
Admission Procedure
For admissions, interested candidates need to submit the duly filled application form enclosed with all the required documents before the last date of submission. Some institutes take direct admissions whereas some reputed institutes conduct entrance sessions and interviews to shortlist the deserving candidates for admissions.
Duration
The duration of this course is 3 years but it is variable. Candidates may ask for an extension with valid reasons but it is subject to the approval from the supervisor.
Further Study options
After Ph.D., Post Doctorate degree course is available which is actually an extension of research work pursuing by the candidate after completion of his or her Ph.D.
