Introduction
Anatomy is a branch or sub-specialization of Bioscience stream. Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy in Anatomy is a course which focuses on the study of clinical human anatomy. Candidates are allowed to conduct their independent research on the topic of their own interest after getting approval from their supervisor. The course cannot the pursued through correspondence as candidates need to have regular theory classes and practical session to the better understanding of the subject.
Eligibility
To become eligible for this course, candidates need to complete their Post Graduation course in Bioscience or anatomy from a registered and recognized institute and should secure at least 55% marks as aggregate.
Being a research-based course, most of the institutes do not have any age restriction but it is advised to check the same before submission of the application to avoid the end moment rejection of the application.
Admission Procedure
For admissions, candidates need to submit the duly filled form before the last date. This form must be enclosed with all other required documents.
Admissions are done through entrance test in most of the institutes. These tests can be of national level, state level or even institute level.
Some institutes offer direct admissions for self-sponsored research work where candidates are not liable to get any stipend.
Duration
The duration of this course is 3 years which includes theoretical study, research work, and writing work. This duration may get the extended subject to approval with valid reasons.
Further Study options
After successfully defending the thesis of Ph.D., interested candidates can continue their work in the form of Post Doctorate degree.
