Overview
Control systems engineering or control engineering is a specialized branch of electrical engineering that uses the principles of automatic control for obtaining the desired behaviour and performance in a system. The field of instrumentation too plays a crucial part in sensing, detecting and measuring the output performances to achieve the desired control. With rapid advancements in technology, automatic control systems and control engineering is the order of the day and has wide scope of opportunities in industries, research and academics.
Eligibility
Master's degree in any branch of engineering. Those with M.Sc in Physics or Mathematics with necessary marks too may apply. Others who have only a bachelor's degree in engineering may also apply if they have a valid GATE score and excellent academic record to back their credentials. The selection to the course is through written tests and interview. The written tests will test you on your grasp on the relevant subjects. A prior background in research, teaching and industry helps.
Course duration
It takes around 3-5 years to complete your doctoral research.
