Introduction
B.Tech is an Undergraduate degree in a Technical stream with a full name as Bachelor of Technology. It has many variations or specializations and Computer Science and Information Technology is one among them. This stream of technology deals with a study about theoretical foundations of computers and information systems, computation and related practical techniques, their implementation, and applications in computer systems. This course is completely practical and cannot be pursued through correspondence.
Candidates having knowledge of programming and computer hardware- Software and having interest in information systems are suitable for this course.
Eligibility
Candidates who have completed 12th standard from a reputed institute and recognized board with at least 60% marks are eligible for this course. They must have studies Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) during their 12th.
All the institutes also have some age criteria for this course and that must be checked from the selected institute as it varies from one to another.
Admission Procedure
Being a professional course there is a lot of competition for admissions in this course. There is various national, state and even institute level entrance tests and candidates perfuming well in them get admission for this course.
Candidates need to submit their application form before the last date to become eligible for appearing in entrance tests and these forms must be complete in all senses.
One candidate can appear in multiple entrance tests.
Duration
The duration of this course is 4 years in regular mode. These 4 years are divided into 8 semesters, each having 6 months duration.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates should go for Masters degree to have better job options. They can pursue M.Tech in Computer Science and Information Technology, M.Tech in Computer Aided Design, Networking Engineering, M.S. in Computational Natural Science, M.E. in Computer and Communication and many more options are available.
After that Ph.D. is also available for candidates having a scientific aptitude and wants to pursue research-based studies.
