Eligibility Criteria

1. To join this course, the basic eligibility is the completion of either a three year diploma or degree in engineering sciences or related fields. Other than this a student may pass a degree under A.M.I.E. or Associate Member of Institution of Engineers or B.Sc. honors in either Physics, or Chemistry or Mathematics or Computer Science. All those students who have studied the Electronics subject at the undergraduate level are also eligible to study this course.
2. There is no restriction over the total marks to be scored at the undergraduate level. But since the admission is on merit basis, it is better that you score at least 50% on your graduation.
3. If the total number of students applying for this course is substantially huge then a screening test will be conducted to further shortlist them. This test will be a written examination with a combination of subjective and objective questions.

Job Prospects

1. You can join as a service engineer in any consumer durable company. Your job will be to repair the air conditioners or refrigerators that were manufactured and sold by your company.
2. After a few years of experience, you can become a maintenance engineer. You will not only be called for regular servicing by the clients of your company, but you will also be responsible for the maintenance of the apparatus within the company.
3. After a few years, you can become a supervisor engineer. You will be the team leader of a few service engineers.
4. Finally, you can become a production manager of your company.
