Introduction
Bachelor of Mass Communication, journalism and Advertising is a graduate level course from the stream of journalism. The course deals with basic journalistic skills and makes the candidates capable of various related technologies involved in mass media like television, radio, computer applications, internet, etc. After this course, candidates can work in different media like print media, radio and other.
Candidates willing to work with newspaper agencies, periodicals, magazines, press information bureaus, websites, etc are suitable for this course. The course provides in-depth knowledge and develops the professional skills to work successfully in the media.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed 12th standard successfully from a reputed institute and registered board are eligible for this course. There is no restriction of subject studies during 12th standard the minimum qualifying marks to become eligible may vary from one institute to another and need to be checked from the selected institute.
Admission Procedure
The admissions are direct in most of the institutes and only a few of them may conduct entrance tests and interviews to validate the knowledge of candidates and to shortlist the deserving candidates depending upon their performances in the same. Interested candidates need to submit the application form before the last date and they should not forget to enclose the other required documents with it.
Duration
The duration of this course is 3 years. It can be counted as 6 semesters in some institutes. Each semester has 6 months duration.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates interested in higher studies can pursue M.A. in Advertising and Marketing Management, M.A. in Advertising and Design, M.Sc. in Public Relations, Master's in Mass Communication and other related courses.
After that M.Phil and Ph.D. is also available for candidates having research aptitude.
