Course Description of PG Diploma in Communication
The course diploma in communication imparts in-depth knowledge to students to enhance their skills in areas of listening, reading and speaking. The program provides intensive training to the students to enables them to become confident speakers. Focus is laid on developing their vocabulary and functional aspects of grammar. The course aims at providing communication skills effectively with proper language functions. Students are exposed to areas of vocabulary, spoken English, phonetics, communicative English writing business communication, verbal and non verbal communication and soft skills. The duration of the course is two years.

The candidates who have completed their degree qualification/ equivalent examination from a recognized university are eligible for the course. The course aims at providing adequate exposure to the study of importance of communication and linguistic communication. The program develops an understanding of the course content through reading, writing, explanation and through group discussion. The students become independent learners
by practice and learn the concepts of English sounds and their usages.of gestures, eye contact and facial expressions are dealt in detail. Study focuses on imparting knowledge on communication patterns, information management, dictation and interviews. They are also introduced and taught the telephonic conversation, conducting seminars and written communication. Training is given for structuring of sentences, writing notices, agenda, handouts and manuals. They are given practices in writing articles, advertising, copy editing and in punctuation.
