Introduction
Bachelor of Arts or B.A. is a graduation or bachelors degree and is available in many subjects including theoretical as well as practical subjects. B.A. in Media and Communication is a unique combination of theory as well as practical subjects related to the field of mass communication, media, advertisement, etc. The course teaches about theoretical principles, existing types of media, their use, etc during the initial period of course. Then candidates also learn about a bit of journalism, principles of practical journalism, journalistic writing, and its various forms.
This course is not available through correspondence but candidates can pursue this in part-time mode if required.
Eligibility
Candidates who have completed 12th standard successfully from a reputed institute and registered board with valid scores are eligible for this course. In most of the institutes, there is no restriction on the subjects studied in 12th but prior knowledge about the field is always preferred.
The age criteria should be checked from the selected institute as it varies widely.
Admission Procedure
Admissions are offered either on the direct basis or on merit basis in most of the colleges and institutes. Only some reputed institutes may conduct entrance tests or interviews to validate the knowledge of candidates about the subject.
Duration
Just like other bachelor level or graduation course, the duration of this course is also 3 years. These 3 years are divided into 6 different semesters, each having 6 months duration. To qualify the course successfully, candidates need to pass each semester separately.
Further Study options
After completion of graduation degree course, post graduation is always suggested to have better job options in future. Candidates can go for Post Graduation by enrolling for Master of Arts in Media and Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication, Media, and Advertising, etc.
