Introduction
M.Sc. or Master of Science is a Post Graduation degree course which is available in different subjects. M.Sc. in Finance is completely focused on finance related studies. Candidates learn about managing funds, money and time management, builds on the principles of risk, etc. the course requires candidates having a grip over mathematics, probability, economics, statistics, etc to have a better understanding about the subject.

Eligibility
Being a Master level course, it requires candidates holding or completed their bachelor's degree in related subject. Candidates who have studied B.Sc. in Finance/ B.Com./ Bachelor of Commerce or another related course/ subject from a reputed institute and have secured at least 55% marks as an aggregate are eligible for this course.
Admission Procedure
For admission, interested candidates can submit the filled application form enclosed with other required documents and application fee before the last date of submission. Admissions are direct in most of the institutes. Only some reputed institutes conduct entrance test or interviews to validate the knowledge of candidate and to shortlist the candidates on the basis of their performance in the same.
Duration
The duration of this course is 2 years and these 2 years are equivalent to 4 semesters. Each semester has 6 months duration and ends with the final test. Candidates need to pass each semester separately to complete the course successfully.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates interested in higher studies can go for M.Phil and then Ph.D. in Finance. Other short-term courses in Microfinance, Forex, Taxation, Treasury, and Forex management are also available for candidates having interest in the same.

The course completely focuses on finance related subjects and starts with taxation, related law and practice, economic analysis, general management, etc. Then candidates learn about research methodologies, management accounting, Indian financial system, and economic environment in India, Financial Markets and Services and other related topics.
An idea about international business and finance is also included in the course.
At the end of the course, candidates need to pursue a short-term project as Dissertation.
