Introduction
M.Tech or master of Technology in Clean Coal and Energy Technology is a post graduate degree course which deals with group or collection of technologies developing or being developed to reduce the impact of coal energy generation on the environment. The course teaches various technologies that are leading to the efficient chemical and thermal conversion of coal with reduced pollutants emissions to water, air, and land throughout the process.
Candidates willing to be an expert in CCT and renewable resources field and want to have excellent entrepreneur skills are suitable for this course.
It is not available through correspondence but professional may join it in part-time mode.
Eligibility
Bachelor of engineering, bachelor of technology or any other equivalent graduate level course is required to become eligible for this course. It should be pursued from a recognized institute and candidates should have secured 60% or higher to fulfill the eligibility.
Admission Procedure
Interested candidates need to fill the application form carefully and submit the same before the last date of submission. Their applications must be enclosed with other required documents.
Admissions are offered through screening on the basis of performance of candidates in entrance tests. These tests can be of national, state or institute level and a single candidate can appear in any or all of them as per his or her availability.
Duration
The duration of this course is 2 years or 4 semesters.
Further Study options
Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy is the available option for the candidates who are willing to pursue higher studies but this course required research aptitude in the candidate. M.Phil in CCT is again an option for candidates who want to finish their studies sooner.

The course includes theory sessions, practical labs, seminars, many related industrial visits, guest lectures, etc. Candidates get trained in coal utilization and renewable integration into CCT through this course.
A part of innovation, entrepreneurship, and management is also included in the course to improve the professional ability of the candidates.
The last part of the course includes a short-term project or dissertation and candidates are supposed to submit the written thesis before the end of their semester.
