B.A. stands for Bachelor of Arts and if it is with English Optional as major subject then it is BA English Optional. There are many students who want to pursue this course because science is not their cup of tea and language is something which attracts them. Students who have passed their 12th standard are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks may vary from institute to institute.
Duration
The regular course typically has duration of 3 years. Some institutes have divided these 3 years into 6 semesters each for 6 months in their curriculum. Candidates need to clear all the semesters separately.
In case of distant education, the duration may vary depending upon the rules and regulations of that particular institute.
