Introduction
M.Tech. or Master of Technology is a post graduate degree course in the field of Geology. Geology is the subject which deals with the study of Earth and the different processes that changes the form and shape of Earth. Candidates learn about different aspects of the course which includes geomorphology, physical geology, engineering geology, structural geology, mineralogy, crystallography, etc. The candidates get specialized in a high quality geotechnical investigation, contaminated land ground investigation, geotechnical sectors and related professional services.

After completion of this course, candidates interested in higher studies should go for Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Geology. It is a research-based course and candidates can enter in the scientific world through this course.
Eligibility
Candidates holding Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering degree in Applied Geology or any other related subject are eligible for this course. It must be pursued from a reputed institute and candidates should have secured 50% marks or higher to become eligible for his course.
Candidates appearing in the final semester examinations of their graduation can also apply for this course but final admission will be offered on the basis of their marks in graduation.
Duration
The duration of this course is 2 years which are divided into 4 equal parts known as semesters. Each semester is having 6 months duration.
Admission Procedure
For admissions, candidates need to submit their filled application form before the last date of submission. These applications should be enclosed with all other required documents like age proof, qualification certificate copies, caster certificate, etc.
Admissions are offered through entrance exams in most of the institutes and only a few colleges offer direct admissions in this course.
