Overview
Contrary to life science which deals with living things, the discipline of physical science is about the physical laws governing all non-living objects on the earth and the universe we live in. Physical science is a very vast field and comprises of four broad disciplines namely, physics, chemistry, astronomy and earth sciences. They are further divided into many sub-fields. There is thus a lot to study and learn in the domain of physical sciences. In this B.Ed program, along with techniques on teaching, you get to learn of the various concepts and laws governing the field of physics, chemistry, earth sciences and astronomy.
Eligibility and course duration
Bachelor's degree in the science stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Selections for the course is usually done through written tests or interviews and in some cases based on marks in graduation.
The B.Ed course is of 2 years duration.

As is mentioned above, the study of physical sciences comprises of four broad disciplines. Physics being the study of matter, focuses more on concepts such as force, motion and energy. At the same time, physics also deals with structure of atoms and their behaviour. Linking physics with chemistry, in chemistry one gets to study about the chemical reactions between molecules and their properties. Earth science is more into studying how the earth was formed into its present state, the atmosphere, the natural environment and the ecosystem surrounding it. Astronomy on the other hand deals with studying celestial objects like stars and planets, their evolution history and the physics and chemistry going into them. The course curriculum involves theory as well as practical sessions on teaching with mock classes and real time teaching in actual schools.

A B.Ed degree in Physical Science leads you to a qualification entitling you to get recruited by secondary schools and institutes. You can become a science teacher either for physics or chemistry in most primary, middle and secondary schools.
