Introduction

If you want to become a health officer with the necessary and specialized training in speech and hearing, then you can think of a master's degree in Audiology & Speech-language Pathology. Eligibility Requirements

1. The students who want to study a master's in Audiology & Speech-language Pathology should complete their graduation first.
2. There is a restriction regarding the stream of specialization at the undergraduate level. The students can either complete a B.Sc. in Audiology & Speech-language Pathology or BASLP or a B.Sc. in Speech and Hearing. Students graduating in the science genre, but with some other discipline can also opt for this course, provided the discipline is related to MASLP.
3. The marks to be obtained in the graduation is minimum 50%.
4. If you are opting for this course in any regular institution, then you must clear an entrance examination. The syllabus of the entrance examination is based on the curriculum of BASLP. If you wish to study this course in a correspondence or distance mode, then you need not give any test. You can take admission by virtue of your marks, as long as the seats are available.

1. You can become a healthcare officer in any school. You can also become a medical counselor in such schools. Your job will be to guide the students having speech and hearing impediments, in a way so that they don't feel left out.
2. You can become a pathologist in any hospital or private nursing homes.
3. After a few years, you can become a speech and hearing therapist in any private clinic or government NGO.
4. Lastly, if you want to stick to the academic field, then you can become a trainer in Audiology & Speech-language Pathology in any medical training center.
