Overview
Radiologist assistants are advanced-level radiographers, who assist the Radiologists in performing a variety of diagnostic imaging examinations, including CAT scans and x-rays. The role of radiology assistant is to monitor patients during and after invasive radiological procedures and make initial observations of diagnostic images for the radiologist.
Eligibility
To enroll in the certification in Radiology Assistant course, the candidate must have qualified graduation in science discipline.
Course duration
The duration of the certification course varies from institutes to institutes. Some college offer two year certification course, while some offer a short term course of one year.
Course details
The course curriculum includes learning modules which incorporates nuclear medicine, anatomy, healthcare management, radiology protocol, patient care and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). During the course, you will be taught about medical terminology, imaging, pharmacology, radiologic biology, radiological safety, patient assessment, , research methods, fluoroscopy and instrumentation. Apart from the classroom instructions , you will also gain clinical training under supervision of an expert.
