Eligibility Criteria and Admission Procedure
- The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing B.E. Biological Sciences & Bioengineering course is a pass degree in 10+2 or Higher Secondary Education with subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Maths from a recognized college or university.
- The candidate should not be more than 25 years of age (30 years for SC / ST) at the time of admission.
- Each college or institute may exercise their own minimum score criterion. Generally, the minimum eligible score lies between 40-50% marks in aggregate.
Admission to this engineering degree is based on the performance in entrance examination carried out by different universities like JEE Main, UPSEE, AIEEE or any other relevant State level examination. The online forms for registering for admission to the course are made available on the JEE Main website www.jeemain.nic.in. generally, the application form for entrance exam is available on the website between February and March. The general process involves entrance test, counselling and later admission.
About the course
B.E. Biological Sciences & Bioengineering is a fusion course combining biology and other basic engineering sciences. This course exposes students to exciting new fields of knowledge while also providing opportunities for obtaining valuable hands-on research experience. The course is aimed at using concepts of engineering, technology and biology for solving real life problems and for aiding research work, improving and enriching healthcare sector, diagnostic processes, medicines, rehabilitation, hospital equipment / tools, etc. Modern Biology has contributed much to countless technological innovations in the field of medicine. Course Duration
The duration of B.E. Biological Sciences & Bioengineering course is 4 years which is divided into eight semesters, with each semester lasting for a period of six months.

After successful completion of the course, graduates interested in going for higher degree can go for M.E or M.Tech in the related field followed by research.
