Introduction
Bachelor of Science is addressed as B.Sc. in most of the cases. It is an undergraduate level degree course in the field of science with many specializations available in it. Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology is the study of animals and plants. It covers different aspects of tissue culture biotechnology, clinical laboratory techniques, genetic engineering, microbiology, wildlife preservations, etc through this course. The course also includes the study of environmental problems faced by different types of pollutions, related diseases, their causes, prevention and control measures.
The main subjects in this course are developmental biology, biostatistics, cell biology, Quantitative Biology, genetics, animal physiology, etc.
Eligibility
Candidates who have completed their 12th standard examination or any other equivalent course successfully from a registered board and recognized institute are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks should be 50% to become eligible for this course. The age criteria vary from one institute to another.
Admission Procedure
Admissions are simple in most of the institutes. Candidates need to fill and submit the application forms in the selected institute before the last date of submission. They should also attach the other required documents like qualification certificate copies, age certificate, caste certificate, etc with the application form.
Admissions are offered either directly or on merit basis in most of the institutes and only some reputed ones conduct their entrance tests to shortlist the candidates on the basis of their performance in the same.
Duration
The duration of this course is 3 years. In some institutes, these 3 years are divided into 6 parts known as semesters.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, it is advised to continue the studies to have better job options. Candidates can go for master's degree like M.Sc. in same or related subjects like Zoology, Life science, Biotechnology, etc. After that, M.Phil. and Ph.D. is also available for the candidates having research aptitude.

The course starts with Invertebrate, economic entomology, animal diversity, chordate, basics of Biotechnology, Systematics, and biodiversity, etc. Each of these subjects also has lab sessions for a better understanding of the candidates.
Candidates also learn about molecular Biology, Applied Entomology, Immunology, histochemistry, immunology, animal behavior, etc.
