Course Overview

It is a post graduate course in Plant Pathology. Plant science is the study of plants. In this course, the students perform research on plants in various functions some by using microscope to examine the interior structure of plants, some by identifying plants in the field and some in laboratories working with DNA of plants.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing M.Sc Plant Science is B.Sc. Plant Science degree in Science stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and with subjects such as Botany, Biological Sciences, Zoology and Chemistry from a recognized college or university.
  • Those belonging to reserved category (SC /ST) can seek relaxation up to 5% marks in qualifying examination.
  • In various colleges and universities, it conducts entrance exam for admission of the students.

The duration of M.Sc Plant Science course is 2 years which is divided into four semesters, with each semester lasting for a period of six months.
