Introduction
M.A. or Master of Arts is a Post Graduation level in the field of arts and other related subjects. M.A. in Career Guidance is related to the field of education. The course includes and focuses on various therapies and behavioral modification techniques. It creates professional career counselors to work in the field of education and provide the required support in the education system. Candidates get to learn about different scientific techniques of assessment, counseling skills, etc to help the students in reaching their potential by correctly assessing their own passions, abilities, and values.

Duration
The duration of this course is 2 years which is equivalent to 4 semesters. Each semester ends with final exams and candidates need to appear and pass each final exam separately to complete the course successfully.
Eligibility
Candidates either holding or pursuing the last semester of graduation in any stream from a reputed institute are eligible for this course. It can be B.A., B.Sc. or any other equivalent course. But for final admissions, it is compulsory to complete the graduate degree for those candidates who were pursuing at the time of application. Age criteria should be checked from the selected institute before submitting the application as it varies from one to another institute.
Admission Procedure
For admissions, interested candidates need to submit their filled application forms in the selected institutes before the last date of submission. Admissions are offered either on the direct basis or on merit basis. Very few number of
Institutes conduct any entrance test or interview to validate the knowledge of candidates.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates interested in pursuing higher studies can go for Master of Philosophy in Career Guidance. It is a short-term course. After that, Doctor of Philosophy in the same or related subject is also available.

Most of the part of this course is theoretical. It starts with topics like introduction to career counseling, foundations for graduates study in guidance or counseling, theories related to counseling and psychotherapy, ethics and legal issues in the same, etc.
Candidates also learn about multicultural counseling, techniques involved, lifespan development, the psychology of work and assessment in counseling and education.
