Overview
Mathematics has mainly two fields, pure and applied mathematics. Applied mathematics is more about its applications in various fields like science, engineering, business, economics, computer science and technology. It combines science with the theorems and principles of mathematics. It focuses on the creation of mathematical models to solve challenges thrown by the world of science and engineering. Whereas, pure mathematics is more about abstract concepts and is mainly studied for research. Robotics, artificial intelligence, meteorology and electromagnetic theory, are all based on concepts of applied mathematics.
Eligibility & course duration
A bachelors degree with mathematics as one of the subjects. Colleges may desire more than 50% marks in the qualifying exam.
