Overview
M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence is all about studying how to embed intelligent behaviour in computers and the computer software. The main idea behind the concept of artificial intelligence is to make machines and computers less dependent on humans. That they should be able to work and take decisions of their own depending upon the immediate environment surrounding the machine or the computer. Artificial intelligence is a highly technical and specialized field. For pursuing this course you need to have a deep interest in the field and a good understanding of concepts like machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, computer vision, etc.
Eligibility
You need to be a graduate- B.E, B.Tech or B.Sc with specialization in computer science or any related subject. Most of the renowned colleges conducting this course insist on GATE score or more than 60% marks in the qualifying degree. Some colleges conduct their own entrance exams.
Duration
Two years, divided into four semesters.

From software development, robotics, space exploration, medical diagnosis, stock trading, remote sensing and scientific discoveries, there are many other fields which are likely to be benefited with the concept of artificial intelligence. After undergoing this course one can go for further research in this field by doing a PhD and eventually get employed in world class organisations like NASA, ISRO and many others. Other such applications where there's a possibility of getting jobs in the field of artificial intelligence are aviation, transportation, toys, gaming and the automated industries.
