Introduction and a General overview
Council of Higher Secondary Education Course is a state level 10+2 course. If you think of pursuing science in this course, then you must have a strong background in Mathematics. This is because the curriculum of science stream under Council of Higher Secondary Education Course contains a great deal of emphasis on the applied portion of Mathematics. You will have Physics as another subject in the science stream. This is subject contains a chunk of Mathematics in it. You can think of becoming professors in science subjects or joining the IT sector or chip developers eventually, after doing graduation in science stream. So think if you want your career to be in this direction. If you want your future to take a shape in any of the directions mentioned above, then you should take science stream in the higher secondary. This is a two year long course.
If you want to study science in higher secondary, then you require to complete class 10 prior to this course. There is a restriction on the marks to be obtained in higher secondary. The students must obtain a minimum of 80% in class 10 aggregate to be eligible to study science in their plus twos. Along with this, some schools impose one extra restriction. This restriction says that the students applying for the science stream should have minimum 75% in Mathematics.
You can think of moving into engineering sciences right after higher secondary. You can study either B. Tech or B.E. after this course. The stream of specialization in any such courses would depend on your preference. You have a lot of options to choose from in engineering sciences. In fact, a lot of new streams are coming every year. You may think of studying a subject that is out of the box and can get enrolled in a genre that has just come in the university. The advantage of this is that you will face a lot less competition than in any established engineering branch like Electrical or Civil or Mechanical, etc.

- You can become a laboratory assistant in any of the science subjects you have learnt in your plus twos.
- You can also opt for clerical positions in private banks. But to do this, you must clear the IBPS examination.
