Introduction
M.Tech. or Master of Technology is a Post Graduate level degree course in a technical stream and the specialization of Thermal System Design deals with the thermal engineering part. It teaches about main lines of thermal and energetic engineering, renewable energy, energy efficiency and environmental preservation. Candidates get to learn about classical energy technologies, recent technologies related to renewable energy, energy saving policies, environmental legislation, energy economy, etc.
The course is technical in nature and includes both theories as well as a practical session. Candidates need to enroll in regular mode only and they cannot go for the course through correspondence.
Eligibility
The course required candidates holding B.E. or B.Tech degree in same or related specialization from a recognized institute. They should have scored at least 55% as aggregate to become eligible for this course. Advanced heat transfer, thermal power plant engineering, advanced thermodynamics, and combustion are some basic topics which are coved during the initial period of the course. Then the candidates learn about different optimization techniques, designing of heat exchangers, energy analysis of thermal systems, the design of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
Details of thermal turbomachines, designing of cryogenic systems, etc are also included in the course.
