Overview

Leather technology is an engineering branch, which deals with the production and refining of leather before it can be put to good use. Courses in leather technology are relatively new and are gaining importance in the industry with each passing year. It is only recently that such kind of courses has been launched in the country and is benefiting both the student community and the leather industry. Because of the technology development, the leather industry is presently coming up as a lucrative career option for the students these days. Being a manpower intensive field there is no dearth of jobs in this field. Our leather Industry is currently the second largest producer of footwear and leather garments in the world.

Eligibility criteria

B.E./B.Tech or any equivalent degree. Admission for this postgraduate program is either through entrance tests or a certain minimum percentage of marks in your bachelors degree.

The duration of the course is two years, split into four semesters.
