Introduction
L.L.M. is an abbreviated name for Master of Law. The specialization of Commercial Law provides in-depth knowledge of legal issues related t corporate governance and business liabilities. Candidates learn about the practical difficulties while having a business experience like meeting their legal obligations and complying with all the regulatory frameworks.
Candidates who are willing to learn about legal aspects of commercial transactions like insurance, drafting contracts, financing, bank guarantees, investment and insolvency issues should enroll in this course.
Eligibility
Candidates holding L.L.B. degree or any other equivalent degree from a reputed and registered institute and obtained or secured at least 55% marks as aggregate in same can enroll in this course. There are some relaxations for the candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC Caste.
The age requirement is also there are eligibility terms and that need to be checked from the selected institute before the submission of application form.
Admission Procedure
Admissions can be taken by applying in the selected institutes. This application can be made by submitting the duly filled application form before the last date of submission. They should also enclose other documents like qualification certificates, caste certificate, application fee, etc.
Admissions are offered either directly or on merit basis in most of the institutes and only a few reputed law colleges conduct entrance tests to validate the knowledge of candidates.
Duration
Just like other Master's degree course, it is also having 2 years duration. These 2 years are divided into 4 equal parts known as semesters.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates interested in higher studies can go for Ph.D. in international legal studies or interdisciplinary course as per their suitability. Other options are short-term course related to the legal studies like Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial law, IPR and Patent Law, etc.
