The typical duration of the BBA course is three years long, split into six semesters, though, in certain institutes, the course may be offered for a duration of four years split into eight semesters. Typically, the beginning semesters include subjects of fundamental importance, and the course proceeds towards increasing levels of diversity in higher semesters. It is only the fifth semester onwards usually, that students begin specializing in the various other domains of Business Administration.

The rules of eligibility for the BBA course are quite relaxed. Now students from any background are welcomed into the course provided they successfully pass a High School Certificate examination with a minimum of 55-70% marks, depending on the institute they want to apply to.
