Introduction
M.Com is an abbreviated form of Master of Commerce and as its name suggests, it is postgraduate level degree course in commerce stream. It has some specializations like Accounts, management, etc. M.Com in Management is a unique combination of accountancy and management. The course provides learning for different management processes like leading, controlling, organizing, monitoring, planning, etc. Candidates also learn about business-related challenges, critical leadership skills, etc which make them able to stand in the current competitive business scenario.
The course has main seven parts which are economics, management, business law and ethics, global entrepreneurship, media and electronic commerce, etc.
Eligibility
Candidates who have pursued Graduation in commerce or any equivalent commerce from a registered and recognized institute and have scored at least 55% marks as aggregate are eligible for this course. The age limit should be checked from the selected institute as it varies from one to another institute.
Admission Procedure
Admissions are direct in most of the institutes. Interested candidates need to fill and submit the application enclosed with other documents before the last date of submission. Only some reputed colleges conduct entrance tests or interview sessions to validate the knowledge of candidates.
Duration
The duration of this course is 2 years which is equivalent to 4 semesters.
Further Study options
After completion of Masters degree, candidates interested in pursuing higher studies can go for Master of Philosophy in business management. After that Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy can also be pursued.
Candidates looking forward to having a corporate job can pursue M.B.A. in business law, corporate Secretaryship, green business management, etc.
