Introduction

Ph.D. requires candidates holding Masters Degree in same or related specialization pursued from a reputed and recognized institute. Candidates must have secured 55% marks or higher to become eligible for this course.
This course does not have any strict age criteria and most of the institutes accept even professional candidates if they want to have in-depth knowledge of their own field to have a better career in future.
This course also has some reservation and relaxations for reserved category candidates and that need to be checked from the selected institute before submitting the application.
Duration
The usual duration of this course is 3 years but it may be extended up to 5-6 years subject to approval from supervisor and other authorities for some valid reasons.
Further Study options
Ph.D. is considered as the highest academic degree in any field and subject. A candidate still wants to continue his or her work, the option is to enroll for Post Doctorate degree. It is not a separate degree and an extension of Ph.D. after getting a Doctorate degree.
