The course syllabus includes communication skills, general foundation course, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, nutrition, hygiene, sociology, psychology, fundamentals of nursing, medical surgical nursing, maternal health nursing (for females), communicable disease control, family planning / welfare activities and environmental sanitation, child health nursing, community health nursing etc. After completion of the course the candidate is expected to perform basic health care activities, carry out nutrition and health education initiatives, provide basic maternal and child health care including immunization service, family health care and family planning services. The student will also be able to perform midwifery services, participation in prevention of communicable diseases, perform first aid and emergency nursing care.
On successful completion of the Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (A.N.M.) / Multi Purpose Health Worker (M.P.H.W.) certificate course, the students can find job in hospitals, nursing homes and medical clinics, NGO's, corporate houses and social welfare / family planning organizations.
