Introduction
M.S. (Pharm.) Pharmaceutical Analysis is a Master of Science in Pharma with specialization in Pharmaceutical Analysis. A pharmaceutical analysis is a sequence of processes involved in quantifying and identifying any substrate or drug, any components of pharmaceutical solution and determination of the structures of different chemical compounds which are used in the formulation of any pharmaceutical product.
Candidates having the ability to do hard work, have excellent logical thinking, are responsible in nature, have patience and can do patient counseling if needed should enroll in this course.
Most of the course curriculum is lab-based or experimental and the theory part is just for understanding. Candidates interested in pursuing this course need to enroll in regular mode only as it is not available through correspondence.
This course is also available for professionals in some cases for their skills improvement and professional betterment.
Eligibility
Candidates who have pursued Graduation in the field of Pharma or related science from a registered and recognized institute/ college /university are eligible for this course. They must have secured 55% as aggregate during graduation to become eligible for this.
The age criterion needs to be checked from the selected institute as it varies from one to another.
Admission Procedure
Admissions are offered in different ways in different institutes. In most of the reputed institutes, the performance of candidates in entrance tests is considered. They offer admissions through entrance tests and candidates performing well in them get shortlisted for admissions. It can be GATE/PGCET/GPAT or any other equivalent test.
Other institutes either accept direct admissions or create a list o merit basis.
Duration
The duration of this course is 2 years which are equivalent to 4 semesters.

After completion of this Master level course, the available and suitable option for candidates willing to continue their studies is Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy. They can choose any related subject like Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Phytopharmacy and Phytomedicine, Pharmaceutics, etc. It is a research-based course with excellent opportunities in the scientific field.
