Introduction
Diploma is considered as a course for those who are not able or not willing to pursue regular degree courses in any field. The diploma is available in most of the subjects from all the streams. Electronics and Telecommunication focus on the study of electronic devices and networks, computer fundamentals, electric magnetic fields, telecommunication and control systems. The course also provides in-depth scientific knowledge of effects and behavior of electronics while developing components, systems, equipment, and devices. Candidates also learn about all the recent trends and advancements in telecommunication technology with special focus on wire/wireless networks, circuit designs, and microcontrollers.
Eligibility
Being a Diploma level course, candidates who have completed 10th with mathematics and science subjects from a reputed institute and registered board are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks should be 45% or higher.
12th passed candidates can also pursue this course and can get admission in 2nd year directly.
Admission Procedure
Admissions are simple and on the direct basis in most of the institutes. Only some reputed institutes may conduct entrance tests to validate the knowledge of candidates and to shortlist the candidates on the basis of their performance in the same. In all the cases interested candidates need to fill and submit their duly filled application form before the last date of submission.
Duration
The duration of this course is 3 years for 10th passed candidates. It may vary for candidates with higher qualifications. These 3 years are divided into 6 equal parts known as semesters in some institutes.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates interested in higher studies can get direct admissions in graduation level course that too in the 2nd year. They can go for B.E. in applied Electronics and instrumentation, electronics and telecom engineering and electronic control system engineering, etc. After that post-graduation can also be done in the same or related field. M.B.A. degree is also available for these candidates. Ph.D. is an option for candidates who want to have a scientific career ahead.
