Eligibility Criteria
Following are the eligibility criteria for two different types of B.Sc (Hon) Nursing course:
B.Sc (Basic)
The basic eligibility criteria for B.Sc (Hon) Nursing (Basic) course is a pass degree in Higher Secondary Examination or 10+2 in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates should be medically fit to pursue this course.
B.Sc (Post Basic)
The basic eligibility criteria for B.Sc (Hon) Nursing (Post Basic) course is a pass degree in Higher Secondary Examination or 10+2 in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates who are pass in 10+1 are also eligible for admission. Candidates should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery. They should be registered with the State Nurses Registration Council. They should have a proof of training by Indian Nursing Council.
Academic options after this course
Candidates can go for further higher education courses such as Master's and Ph.D in Nursing.
Course Duration
The duration of B.Sc (Hon) Nursing course is of 4 years, however the course is divided into two parts:
B.Sc (Basic) This is the regular course where the duration is of 4 years.
B.Sc (Post Basic) It is further divided into two sub categories
Regular: This course is of 2 years which consist of 10+2+G.N.M (General Nursing and Midwifery).
Distance: This course is of 3 years which consist of 10+2+G.N.M+2 years of experience.
