About M.Pharm Pharmacy Practice Course
Master of Pharmacy in Pharmacy Practice is a two year postgraduate Pharmacy course. This course is designed to provide students the instructions in processes and concepts of the technical procedures to prepare and dispense drugs in hospital.
Minimum eligibility required to apply for admission to the M.Pharm Pharmacy Practice course is to qualify in B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) from a recognized institute with an aggregate score of 50%.
Admission procedure may vary from one college to another. Most of the institutes offer admission to the M.Pharm Pharmacy Practice course, based on candidate's performance in the relevant entrance test, often followed by 2 additional rounds of group discussion and personal interview. Some of the subjects covered in the syllabus of the M.Pharm Pharmacy Practice course are spectrofluorimetry, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, optical rotary dispersion, chromatographic techniques, respiratory system, hemotological diseases, oncology, ophthalmology, infectious diseases, psychiatric disorders, community pharmacy, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, concept of rational use of drugs, public health policy and health care system, hospital pharmacy, evidence based medicine, daily activities of clinical pharmacists, drugs and poisons information, patient data analysis and clinical pharmacokinetics.
Duration of the M.Pharm Pharmacy Practice course is 2 years, divided into 4 semesters which means 2 semesters per year. Each semester lasts for 6 months.
