For a country like India that is blessed with a long coastline and a strategic presence in the Indian Ocean, the shipping industry plays a very important role in transportation of goods and material and to some extent in transporting human passengers. Transportation of goods through ships is an integral part of the country's economy. Most of the exports and imports that takes place is through shipping routes only. For inland movement also rivers play an important role. A number of sea and river ports are actively involved in the transportation of goods through ships. An MBA program in shipping, logistics and port management thus prepares a pool of professionally trained manpower that can look after the management of ports and the logistics part very efficiently.

Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% or higher marks from a recognized university. Selection is through admission tests and interview.
