The main objective of this post graduate course is to promote the study of Telugu language and its literature among the new generation of students. The Telugu language has lot of historical significance, as it is the dominant language spoken by the people residing in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It is also widely spoken in the neighbouring states and in Puducherry. In fact, after Hindi and Bengali, Telugu is the most widely spoken language in the country. The Telugu language also has the great honour of being recognised as one of the six classical languages of India. Unlike the Indo-Aryan languages, it is one of those languages within the Dravidian group that is native to India.

Eligibility and course duration

Bachelors degree in the field of arts with Telugu as one of the subjects with at least 50% of marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
