Eligibility Criteria
- The basic qualification for pursuing B.Tech Surface Coating Technology course is a pass degree in 10+2 or Higher Secondary Examination with a minimum of 55% marks with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized college or university.
- Some institutes conduct an entrance examination for admission to their B.Tech degree.
- Those candidates who have done a Diploma degree in Surface Coating Technology, Polymer Technology or Plastic Mold Technology are also eligible to pursue this course through lateral entry.
Course Duration
The duration of B.Tech Surface Coating Technology course is 4 years divided into eight semesters with each semester lasting for a period of six months. At the end of each semester, examinations are held to assess the candidate's knowledge in the subject and the students must pass in each semester to obtain the B.Tech degree after completion of the course.

It is an undergraduate engineering course in the field of plastic / polymer technology. The curriculum covers areas such as polymer physics and rubber compounding. The course explores new trends to cover the surface such as the outer surface of wires need to be covered by plastic or rubber compounds to make it safe for use.

Candidates who have completed 10+2 or equivalent qualification or who are appearing for 10+2 are also eligible to apply for this course. It is a State level examination and must be qualified for admission in Maharashtra state.
Course syllabus
Apart from the theoretical aspects, candidates are required to submit a project at the end of the curriculum for successful completion of the course. The projects are to be completed in groups. During the last two semesters, candidates are given a set of electives to choose from which acts as a specialization.
