Overview
This is an undergraduate course that gives equal emphasis to all the three subjects namely, biotechnology, botany and chemistry. The field of biotechnology is gaining in importance, ever since it has been used in enhancing food production, agriculture and in eradicating diseases. Biotechnology, still a nascent field, has a great future, with more applications to come up. The course is thus gaining in popularity with many undergraduate students opting for it, expecting it to gain in significance in the years to come. The field of botany and chemistry complements biotechnology as biotechnology itself encompasses a wide array of science fields such as, biomedical, biochemistry, bioengineering and so on.
Eligibility and course duration
10+2 in science stream from a recognized school board. Admission to the course is achieved depending upon your marks in 10+2. The course is of 3 years in duration.

Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary science field that sees applications of science and engineering on biological sciences. Many among them are threatened with extinction due to environmental changes, rapid industrialization, deforestation and other factors.
