Introduction
Mater of Technology or M.Tech is a Post Graduate level degree course in the field of Technology and Engineering. It is available in many subjects and specializations of different streams. M.Tech in Hydrology and Water Resource is a specialization that deals with water science and related engineering. Candidates learn about developing water resources, their management, water flow, etc. The studies included in the course are focusing on water associated problems and use and control of water. Eligibility

After completion of this course, candidates interested in pursuing higher studies should go for Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy in Hydrology or any other related topic of their interest. Ph.D. is a research-based course after which candidates can easily get scientific jobs. After Ph.D., Post Doctorate research work can also be pursued.
Course Highlights
The course starts with very basic topics like open channel hydraulics, engineering hydrology, advanced fluid mechanics, etc. Then candidates also learn about groundwater engineering, water resource planning, designing of hydraulic structures and modeling analysis. The course includes some seminars, projects and some guest lecturers to support the practical learning of candidates.
Some electives are also included in the course like hydropower engineering, wind engineering, remote sensing for water resource systems, etc.
