Overview
The course on film, television and digital video production provides you with a valuable insight into the production of films and television programmes. Through this course you learn the art of directing films and other video productions. It also provides you with inputs in script writing, cinematography, lighting, sound, editing, creating special effects and so on. There are also lessons on film and television studies that tell you about the constant changes the world of television and films are facing in this digital age.
Eligibility and course duration
Graduation in any field be it art, commerce, science or the mass media. Institutes may conduct an entrance test, sometimes online, followed by a personal interview. Students will be required to purchase photographic equipment of their own. Since the courses are mostly regular ones, working persons may not be eligible for the course.
The duration of the course is 10-12 months.

The course spans two semesters and is divided into a number of modules. During the modules, practical hands-on training is provided to the students so that they are capable of handling every activity on their own. The students get to practice each activity a number of times so as to be proficient in them. It is through mistakes and redoing the activities that one gets to learn the art of filmmaking, directing, cinematography, editing, etc. The students get to practice and hone their skills under the supervision of industry experts. There will be usual classes, seminars, workshops, presentations and film screenings that aid you in your learning process. Often, there will be guest lecturers from the film and the television fraternity who will provide you with valuable inputs and motivate you to excel in your field. The colleges will be equipped with studios that provide firsthand experience in sound recording and various production and post production audio-visual activities. The students will get to work under suitable lighting, props and other production accessories.
