It is a postgraduate course in dentistry. Oral pathology is a branch of dentistry that is concerned with the analysis and treatment of diseases related to teeth, oral cavity and jaws.
Eligibility Criteria
- The basic qualification required for pursuing M.D.S. Oral Pathology course is a pass degree in B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) course awarded by an Indian University from a recognized dental college or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India.
- Aspiring candidates need to obtain permanent registration from the DCI (Dental Council of India) or any of the State Council. If a candidate does not possess such registration, they are expected to obtain the same within one month from the date of admission.
- Scholarships are offered for pursuing the course based on the aggregate score attained in the entrance exam.
The duration of M.D.S. Oral Pathology course is 3 years.
Admission process
The admission is purely based on merit obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the colleges offering M.D.S. program. Those candidates who qualify in the written examination are called for counseling and interview. Admissions are based on the candidate's performance in the NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test). The entrance test includes 200 multiple choice questions to be attempted in 2.5 to 3 hours time limit. The paper is of 200 marks.
