Introduction
B.Ed. is an abbreviation of Bachelor of Education and it is a bachelor level course which can be pursued only after completion of graduation. B. Ed. is a course which trains the candidates for teaching and school management and the branch of political science which includes practices and theories of politics, analysis, and behavior of the political system. Candidates learn about historical and modern political systems, international relations, public affairs, governmental policies and public administrations.
This course is available in different modes including regular, part-time and even through correspondence.
Eligibility
Candidates holding a graduate degree in political science or any other related/ equivalent qualification with the 10+2+3 format from a registered and reputed institute are eligible for this course. The minimum required marks should be 50% or higher to become eligible for this course. The age criteria vary widely and it is advised to check the same from the selected institute.
Admission Procedure
For admissions, interested candidates required to fill up the application forms and then submit the same in selected the institutes before the last date of submissions. Single candidates can apply in multiple institutes to secure a seat in one of them. The application forms should be enclosed with other required documents like qualification certificates, age proof, caste certificate, etc.
Admissions are offered through entrance tests in most of the reputed institutes. Only some institutes offer seats either directly or on the basis of merit.
Duration
The duration of this course is 2 years or 4 semesters in regular mode which can be varied in case of part-time course or through correspondence.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates are eligible to get a teaching job easily but if they want to continue their studies, they can pursue post graduation or Master's degree. They can enroll in Master of Education/ M.Ed., Master of Arts in Political Science and the Master of Philosophy.
Ph.D. is also available for the candidates having research aptitude.
