Introduction

MCA means Master's in Computer Applications. Integrated MCA means BCA course included in the MCA and MCA stretched for 5 years. That means, you will complete your graduation and master's in 5 years. Once you complete your higher secondary, you can enroll in this integrated MCA course and complete your graduation and master's degree at one go. The advantage of such an integrated MCA is that you don't need to sit for a separate entrance examination after completing your graduation, to be eligible for MCA. This course is suitable for candidates who wish to become software developers in India or abroad countries. This course is also helpful in making the career of students in designing of embedded systems and compilers. You can choose your favorite genre or specialization area in the final year of this course. You can get jobs specific to your area of specialization in MCA.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The students must complete their higher secondary before studying this course. Since this is an integrated MCA, the basic eligibility requirement would match that of a graduation course.
2. The students must pass their higher secondary degree in science stream. The students of pure science stream that is with the subjects Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry are preferred over other students. The next preference is given to students who have Computer Science and Mathematics as two of the science subjects. The least preference is given to students of non-pure science or bio science genre.
3. The aggregate score of the final examination of class 12 must be minimum 60%. Sometimes, depending on the number of candidates applying, an entrance examination is conducted to shortlist the students.
4. After completing the BCA course, you will get a chance to study MCA, if your aggregate score of BCA is higher than their predetermined cutoff.

Future Job Prospects

1. You can become a computer programmer after this course. After 2-3 years of experience, you will become their official software developer.
2. Eventually, you can become a senior associate. You will be in charge of a chunk of a project. You will have a few software developers reporting to you.
3. If you wish to switch to some other genre, then you can shift to compiler designing. You will be a part of the core language development team.
4. You can become a project manager after an experience of 10-12 years. Your job will be to bring projects to the company and manage an efficient team of computer programmers.
