Baccalaureate in Optometry course will lead to a basic degree in optometry, which is considered as the minimum essential for statutory registration of optometrists in countries where Optometry has been brought under legislation.
- The basic eligibility that is required to pursue Baccalaureate in Optometry course is a pass certificate in Higher Secondary Examination or 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Maths from a recognized college or university.
- An entrance examination is conducted in some institutes and colleges to provide admission to their Baccalaureate in Optometry course. Selection to these degree colleges is based on the final merit list i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exam of 10+2 and the marks of entrance examination taken together.
