You may be exempted from the written test if you are UGC/ CSIR/ JRF/ NET qualified. Candidates having undergone M.Phil or PhD coursework may also be exempted from the written test.

For undertaking the PhD program, other than having the required qualifications, you have to submit a research proposal that will broadly define the problem that you are going to work upon, the field of study, research methodology and various other details regarding the specific problem.
