Thermal power engineering is a branch of heat engineering which deals with the conversion of heat into other forms of energy. Some of the topics covered in syllabus of the M.Tech Thermal Power Engineering Course are finite element method, thermodynamics and combustion engineering, advanced heat transfer, advanced power plant cycles, theory of IC Engines, steam and gas turbines, analysis of thermal power cycles, boiler auxiliaries and performance evaluation, computational fluid dynamics, fluid mechanics of turbo machines, alternate fuels for I.C engines, environmental pollution control and design of heat transfer equipments for thermal power plant.
