Introduction

B.Sc. Chemistry is an undergraduate course with Chemistry as the honors subject. Eligibility Criteria

  1. The students who wish to study B.Sc. Chemistry must have completed their higher secondary or any equivalent course. If a student has completed an equivalent bridge course, then he or she should apply for this undergraduate course in a distance mode.
  2. There is no general norm on how much marks one needs to get in B.Sc. Chemistry, but a general suggestion here would to be try to keep the final marks of the 10+2 board examinations above 80%. It has been been observed that students getting a score lower than 80% in higher secondary do not make it to the merit list of Chemistry honors course.
  3. After shortlisting the students from the initial applications an admission test is conducted. This admission test is based on the general 10+2 knowledge on Chemistry subject. If a student manages to score good marks in this admission test, then he or she will be selected to study this course.


Job Prospects

  1. If a student passes B.Sc. Chemistry then he or she can think of applying as an intern or apprentice in a metal factory. There are a lot of government industries which are working on metals who recruit fresh graduates as such interns. The interns will get trained on the systems they have to work on, and they will get paid to learn the functionalities.
  2. Once the training period is finished, the intern can join as a full-time associate in the factory. After 5-6 years of experience he or she can become a quality or system analyst.
