About course
As the name hints, it is a combination of Chemistry and Engineering. It includes studies related to manufacturing of chemical products, their instruments, designs, plants, etc. The students are allowed to think about new ideas of production with improved methods.
The great combination of subjects leads to generation of new technical fields like Nanotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed their 10th or 12th examinations are eligible for this course. 12th passed students should have subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics as their optional subjects during 12th.
Merely fulfilling the eligibility criteria does not guarantee good scores in the field. Candidate must have interest in the field of Chemical Engineering to have good grades and bright career ahead.
Duration
Being Diploma course, the duration varies depending upon the previous qualification of the candidate. If the candidate wants to pursue it after his or her 10th examinations, then it will be having 3 years duration.
Whereas if a candidate wants to pursue this course after 12th, then the course will be having 2 years duration.
The duration may vary from one institute to another.
Further study options
After successful completion of Diploma in Chemical Engineering, candidate can pursue Graduation in Chemistry. He or She can also try for B. Tech. in related specialization. In this case, candidate will get advantage of previous qualification in Chemical Engineering.
After Graduation, post graduation and Doctorate options are also open for interested candidates.
