Eligibility:
The eligibility criteria for pursuing a master's degree are holding a bachelor's degree in (B.E/B.Tech) and or qualified GATE score or any other equivalent branches of engineering.

Course overview:
This branch of engineering is typically pertains to the practice and theory of integration of science and technology. The course focuses on extraction and processing of minerals from natural environment and the techniques for mitigating damage to the environment caused by mining activities. This post graduate course prepares the candidate to enter into the mining profession and take up operational or administrative positions or move on to carry out more research activity in the same domain.
Course Details:
The duration of this post graduate course is 2 years and involves multidisciplinary knowledge delivered through theory, practical, seminars, project and or internship. The first year curriculum is classroom based and may include subjects like drilling and blasting, materials handling, mine health and safety, mine ventilation, mine cost engineering, ore reserve analysis, operations analysis, mine planning, and minerals processing. In the second year the students are assigned a full time project which involves putting the theory learnt to practice. Some institutes include a six month internship in the curriculum. The course is designed to enable the candidate to make a valuable contribution in the company where employed.
