Description of the course
The products of human activities which diverse in range is referred to as Art. Art involves using imagination skills in production of art works. Arts include painting, sculpture, photography and print making. The other form of performing arts is music, film, dance, theater and literature. Arts focus on aesthetic beauties in terms of expressions, feelings, thoughts, observations, emotions and other reality qualities. From prehistoric times art works have existed and impressed man.
Throughout the history, art has performed many functions bringing out an in-depth integral appreciation for beauty of balance and harmony. Art education emphasizes on creating art by students, appreciating and criticizing the art works. Through quality art education youngsters learn different trades easily and would be benefited for their future. Art education is becoming a popular culture and is focusing on a wider range of creativity and visual arts.
The curriculum
The curriculum includes lectures, demonstrations slide shows art exhibitions, visits to museum, art galleries and craft centers. The syllabus focuses on fundamentals, drawing, memory, projection drawing, colors theory and practical, child art, dance, drama, music, man-made and natural objects, still life, doll and toy making, screen printing, black board drawing, project work, history of art and art expressions, teaching methods. The teacher needs to give art lessons in the classrooms. The teacher has to equip well to communicate concrete and abstract concepts to students. The teachers should possess the ability to spot the talent in students and promote creativity.
Eligibility criteria for the course : The candidate should have qualified SSLC or equivalent examination
