Course introduction
PUC is "Pre University College" and it is basically group of subjects altogether. Most of the times, this course is pursued with combination of 3-4 subjects related to each other like History, Geography, Sociology, English, etc.
Eligibility
All the candidates who have completed 10 years of schooling are eligible for this course.
Admission Procedure
Admission process is very simple and includes submission of filled application form along with applicable application fee and other supporting documents. Some institutes may have some minimum qualified marks as eligibility criteria.
Duration
The duration for this course is having 2 years duration. If chosen as part time option, the duration may vary depending upon institute to institute.
Age limit
Age criteria is similar as for normal schools have. Some private institute may do not have any age restriction for this course.
Further study options
After successful completion of PUC English, candidates can simply go ahead with their graduation degrees. They can pursue Bachelor of Arts in English literature, then Masters of Arts in English Literature.
Diploma in Education (DEd) and Bachelor of social work (BSW) are also open option for these candidates.
Other vocational programs depending upon the interest can also be done.
Job aspects
As this course is considered as 10+2 of schooling, the job aspects are similar to that. Candidates after PUC English can get job in publishing agency, editing departments, journalism, etc.
Other language related jobs like translator, Magazine editors, news readers are some fields which are open to candidates who have English as their specialization.
Lastly, teaching is again a good option.
